I can’t quite believe it, but today I had a photo shoot for my album cover.

Did I just say that???  Is this happening???

Wow.  What a crazy ride it has been these past few weeks.  I have been super busy, pushing toward finishing the album.  Turns out…the actual music is only part of the process.(haha…who knew??  I’m kidding.  I knew.)

I finished recording lead vocals yesterday.  I really struggled with the last few sessions and I am sure it is just from running full tilt recently…between teaching full time, speaking at conventions, and recording vocals…it’s all just a bit much for this little voice of mine.         I have a bit of a break now until we start to work on background vocals.

After my last lead vocal recording session.  Exhausted.

Meanwhile, I have also been planning for all the other stuff…the album cover, a promo video, looking for a venue for a release party…they are important details, but they are hard for me.  None of those things are really my forte…I can write the songs and I can sing the songs, but as for everything else…well, that’s where my people come in.                             And thank God for incredible people.

My photographer is this amazing, beautiful, multi-talented gem named Kristina.  We have been friends for a long time now, and despite losing touch for a while, she came back into my life at just the right time. I am so grateful for her friendship.  How handy that she also happens to be this incredibly talented photographer??  Pretty handy.

When I started talking about my photo shoot, my besties were very quick to lend their support and thank God for that.  I’m not really much of a hair and make-up kind of a gal in real life…but for my album cover???  You know, it kind of felt important to look my best…and who better than my besties to help with that??  Tiffany and Catherine did an amazing job with my hair and make-up, and I’m so thankful!  But more than that, it was so special to have them be a part of the experience.  And you should have seen the crazy things they were doing behind the scenes to help me relax and to make me laugh!

These 3 girls have been some of my biggest supporters in this process. I don’t quite know what I would do without them.  Love you, K, T and C!!

I don’t want to spoil the finished product, but here are a few behind-the-scenes shots from today!

Setting up!
